50 years old. Wow. In someways its really hard to believe that I'm this old in others its seems like time has flown to get to this point. Had lunch at Red Robin to get my free burger. The we went to an apple orchard and got some very good cider and other apple based goodies. After a little rest and eating some of the above goodies. We went to the YMCA that we had joined last week after the government shut do got finished. I had signed us up for equipment orientation. I ended up very tired from the work out. So decided to skip eating a big meal out. Maybe tomorrow. Got several calls and lots of birthday greetings on facebook from friends and family. In all a very good day.

Had my 48th birthday today. Pretty easy going day today. Started with going to give some blood for a lab work for a doctor appointment next week. Then lunch at Applebees. Didn't feel at all well after lunch I think the pepper corn steak was a little too spicy for me. My niece, nephew and little brother called me today to wish me a happy day. Went to dinner at local Italian restaurant with Maria and Todd. It was a fun and relaxing day.

Went to the 100th Annual Crawford family reunion Sunday. Crawford's are my mothers side of the family. I haven't been to one of these in awhile. Since I currently live about four hours from the site but I had to show up for this one. As it appears that this will be the last one. Fewer and fewer show up for these events every year. Although we did have around 35 people show up this year. It was fun. I marveled at how my cousins kids have grown up and had kids of their own. We acknowledged those that had passed on and welcomed new members.
Afterward helped unloading a truck full of stuff that my parents had gotten from my aunt Karen's old house to put in her new apartment. Finished listening to Last Sons and started Spellsinger.

Went to my sister-in-laws funeral yesterday. It was a long day of travel for us. About a four hour dive each way. The funeral was what you would expect. Very sad. My brothers kids held up well until the ceremony then they both broke down some. It will be a difficult time for both of them in the coming months but at least school is out right now allowing them to grieve without the pressure of classes and other school stuff.

On the way back we stopped at the Tanger outlet. Found a big and tall store and bought a few shirts. Nice to find lots of stuff in my size. Will have to stop by there again.

My sister in-law passed away early this morning. She was put in Hospice on the 3rd, her cancer had not been getting better for several months now. At least they were able to take away some of her pain. My thoughts and prayers go out to my brother and his two children.
